2011 and supported until October 2012.
re-installation crashed during re-install due to strange problems ...
the following errors were listed at the end og the install, in a
dialog marked 'errors were encountered' or something akin to that:

this was the result, after the second attempt to uninstall / reinstall
firefox and some associated libraries etc. .
I am currently looking into how to run dpkg to fix these dependencies
