I have not really found an error that causes this. The error occurred after a failure of recording on a blank disc, I could not mount the disk again and moments later I error appeared. ** Attachment added: "gnome-tweak-tool.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-vfs2/+bug/11121/+attachment/2614014/+files/gnome-tweak-tool.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-vfs2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/11121 Title: Removable drives mount but don't appear on desktop (Hoary) Status in “gnome-vfs2” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: As per subject line, removable drives (in my case a USB flash drive and an ipod) mount fine and I can browse them by using the window that pops up when I plug in the drive or by going through /media, but the icons no longer appear on the desktop.
