Title:
  package tex-common 6.06 [modified: usr/share/tex-common/mktex.cnf]
  failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation
  script returned error exit status 1

Status in tex-common package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  My tex distribution is located in /usr/local/texlive/2017/texmf-dist/
  and is installed from the Tex User's Group (TUG) 2017 collection.

  It is possible that this is confusing the software installer. Every
  time I install anything I get an error message related to the
  installation of tex-common. I am not sure what tex-common is but it is
  not provided on the Tex Collection 2017 DVD from TUG. It has only
  gregoriotex-common.tex.

  My tex distribution works flawlessly.
