Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 17.10 and 18.04, gnome-shell takes a few seconds to recognize that an app is running and show it in launcher and alt-tab. It does however show the window immediately in the window spread UI.
This mostly happens with electron apps especially after a cold boot. ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1739018 Title: Gnome shell is sometimes slow to recognize some running apps Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: In Ubuntu 17.10 and 18.04, gnome-shell takes a few seconds to recognize that an app is running and show it in launcher and alt-tab.
