The error messages seem to come from a call to gtk_widget_set_sensitive in the callback function ev_sidebar_document_changed_cb - on line 518 of shell/ev-sidebar.c, when it is called after a new document is loaded:
gtk_widget_set_sensitive (GTK_WIDGET (sidebar->priv->notebook), TRUE); I'm afraid someone with more knowledge of GTK will have to look into why setting the notebook to be sensitive triggers these error messages. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880952 Title: Evince prints gdk critical failings on console output Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Evince is printing a bunch of gdk critical warnings when running from the console to open any kind of pdf file.
