The UI works partially, i.e. I can drag the top item downwards, and I can also drag the "English" item downwards, so if you are patient enough it's possible to work around the problem. This issue is present with GNOME shell. If I install unity-session and switch to Unity, the language-selector-gnome UI works as usual.
