Interestingly though when I use Fedora 15 (older distributions of Fedora won't work) brightness levels work just fine, so I think this used to be a gnome-settings-daemon bug corrected with the release of gnome 3. jose@JARR-Laptop:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu oneiric (development branch) Release: 11.10 jose@JARR-Laptop:~$ apt-cache policy gnome-settings-daemon gnome-settings-daemon: Installed: 3.1.90-0ubuntu3 Candidate: 3.1.90-0ubuntu3 Version table: *** 3.1.90-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/839965/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
