Lenovo Egde 2-1580, Ubuntu 16.04
I have this problem, so I suppose the fix hasn't made into the standard release
yet.
Linux is quite new to me - could someone explain how to go about solving the
issue?

Thank you!

Title:
Mouse cursor jumps when two fingers are used

Status in XOrg-Driver-Synaptics:
  Fix Released
Status in xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xfree86-driver-synaptics

If the user touches the touchpad in two locations, then raises the
first finger that touched the pad, the mouse jumps to the location of
the second finger as if a full move occurred. This happens on
  Synaptics touchpads.

  To reproduce:
Touch the pad in the upper right and hold
Touch with another finger lower left and hold
Release the finger in the upper right
Mouse jumps to lower left edge of the screen, sometimes selecting text along
the way
