Ok, that's probably two separate bugs. I have a 100% reproducible scenario in Firefox, even with a single monitor, on an up to date, freshly booted 17.04: 1. Go to https://yoast.com/research/autocompletetype.php 2. Don't input anything and press Submit your name. An extended form appears, with fields for name, email, and more 3. Start typing your name in the name field. The autocomplete menu pops up and shows several alternatives (assuming you have some autocomplete values registered). Do not select anything, but instead keep typing random letters until there is no autocomplete match and the autocomplete menu disappears. 4. Go to the email field, and type the first letter of your email (assuming your email is registered as an autocomplete value)
Result: the autocomplete menu appears, but it is anchored to the name field, not the email field. Moreover, it is out of sync with the mouse position (it behaves as it it was at the correct position, therefore the highlighted item does not match the mouse position). If in step 3 you choose an autocomplete entry instead of typing random stuff and having the menu disappear, the problem does not occur. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to firefox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1641629 Title: Autocomplete popups are misplaced Status in Ubuntu GNOME: New Status in firefox package in Ubuntu: New Status in gdm package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Since Ubuntu 16.10, Firefox misplaces autocomplete popups. In the attached screenshot, the autocomplete popup is displayed below the "Nombre transferencia" field, although the focused field is "Mensaje para destinatario", below. Also, moving the mouse pointer below the correct field actually highlights completion options as if the menu was there (see the mouse pointer position on the screenshot) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.10 Package: firefox 49.0.2+build2-0ubuntu0.16.10.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.8.0-27.29-generic 4.8.1 Uname: Linux 4.8.0-27-generic x86_64 AddonCompatCheckDisabled: False ApportVersion: 2.20.3-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: gpothier 3169 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: gpothier 3169 F.... pulseaudio BuildID: 20161025164528 Channel: Unavailable CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Mon Nov 14 11:57:19 2016 ForcedLayersAccel: False IfupdownConfig: # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) auto lo iface lo inet loopback IncompatibleExtensions: English (South Africa) Language Pack - langpack-en...@firefox.mozilla.org English (GB) Language Pack - langpack-en...@firefox.mozilla.org Default - {972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd} InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-01-23 (660 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-GNOME 14.04.1 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64 (20140722.2) MostRecentCrashID: bp-604f3b87-472e-4026-8588-3d2122160725 PrefSources: prefs.js Profiles: Profile0 (Default) - LastVersion=49.0.2/20161025164528 (In use) RelatedPackageVersions: google-talkplugin 5.41.0.0-1 rhythmbox-mozilla 3.4.1-1ubuntu1 gnome-shell 3.20.4-0ubuntu2 RunningIncompatibleAddons: True SourcePackage: firefox SubmittedCrashIDs: bp-604f3b87-472e-4026-8588-3d2122160725 bp-1cd058b7-bfd2-4105-a9b4-1852d2160703 bp-b5b0d8b4-2b5b-40f5-b468-f5eec2160122 bp-aba8367f-3da0-4f1c-9342-b377f2151224 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to yakkety on 2016-10-30 (15 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 03/30/2015 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 76CN43WW dmi.board.asset.tag: No Asset Tag dmi.board.name: Yoga2 dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: 31900058STD dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Tag dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr76CN43WW:bd03/30/2015:svnLENOVO:pn20266:pvrLenovoYoga2Pro:rvnLENOVO:rnYoga2:rvr31900058STD:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrLenovoYoga2Pro: dmi.product.name: 20266 dmi.product.version: Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1641629/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
