Bug description:
I have Google-Chrome set as my preferred web browser in XFCE's
preferred applications. However, if I open a link in XFCE terminal or
in Thunderbird Firefox is opened instead. The setting appears to have
been saved correctly as opening the Web browser item from XFCE's
applications menu launches Chrome, however it seems those apps are
  ignoring it.

  I'm running XFCE on xenial.
