Title:
sudo restart network-manager causes nm-applet to crash

Status in network-manager-applet package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
sudo restart network-manager causes nm-applet to crash.

This should not happen. Either the nm-applet should continue running
unaffected, or the restart sequence of network-manager should stop it
and restart it properly if needed.
