Since the time of reporting, Chromium has been upgraded to
53.0.2785.143-0ubuntu0.16.04.1.1254 (on Ubuntu 16.04), which is in sync
with Google Chrome. I therefore believe this issue can be marked fixed.
Note that there might be a slight delay between the time a new version
is released upstream and when it become available as an update in
Ubuntu, presumably due to packaging, building, testing et al.
