I don't know why this is marked duplicate of bug #1498146. That one
talks about build error with version 340 of the driver. This bug is
about module loading error in version 304 which still happens today with
Ubuntu 16.04. Version 304 is the only version with legacy support for
older GeForce series such as 6800 GT.

Bug description:
This occurs on installing Kernel 4.3 on a Asus N56V Laptop, Ubuntu
14.04.3 with Kernel 4.2.0-18 running, trying to install Kernel 4.3 as
follow:
$ wget http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.3-wily/linux-
headers-4.3.0-040300_4.3.0-040300.201511020949_all.deb
$ wget http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.3-wily/linux-
headers-4.3.0-040300-generic_4.3.0-040300.201511020949_amd64.deb
$ wget http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.3-wily/linux-
image-4.3.0-040300-generic_4.3.0-040300.201511020949_amd64.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i linux-headers-4.3.0*.deb linux-image-4.3.0*.deb
It seems to be dependency problems.
Hybrid Intel Graphics HD 4000 or 4400 i'm not sure, and nvidia 740M.
