** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 448051 The trash is not emptied anymore in Karmic when ejecting removable devices ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 474064 doesn't ask about cleaning trash before unplugging the device -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/495128 Title: Cannot free the usb-stick memory by deleting it's components Status in Nautilus: Confirmed Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: The operating system in which I found this bug is : Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala, 64-bit version Without using "Usb Startup Disk Creator" or any other program, I simply want to delete data from my usb stick. I expect that the usb stick's memory would be freed, in other words, that I will have free memory in the stick in the quantity equal with the size of the deleted data. Instead of this, if I choose to delete data by pressing the button "delete" from the keyboard, the file disappear from the pane and "rubbish" fill up. Then I check the usb stick form "properties" and I find that the memory has not been freed, it is the same as before I delete the chosen data. That happens even if I empty the "rubbish" folder. If I choose to delete data by "transfer to rubbish" option, it happens exactly the same as I described above. I later connected the usb stick in windows xp, and I found that the data I wished to delete were still 'untouched' in a file named "Trash". I hope you consider this report.
