Public bug reported: I'm running a VMWARE virutal machine. Every time the host renews its DHCP lease, the virtual interface of the VM is cycled.

Jun 7 13:31:47 assurancetourix kernel: [1870761.608745] userif-3: sent link up event. I suspect that the state change bound->bound causes a short (unnoticable to humans) interruption of the networking config, which the virtual interface for the VM notices. (in the VM the network then goes down for about ten seconds! Noticeable to humans... ).
