You can't edit a number of settings without going to dconf-editor of playing with gsettings. Just a few examples: #1: Can't change sort folders before files setting #2: Can't change number of clicks needed to open files/folders #3: Can't change icon caption settings #4: Can't change order of information settings for list view #5: Can't change preview settings In a GNOME Shell session the preferences menu is accessed by right clicking the nautilus tab in the window list while nautilus is open. In Unity it's accessed by clicking on Edit in the menu bar. Flashback lacks the ability to do either.
