Title:
gnome-terminal resizes to entire desktop when un-maximised

Status in gnome-terminal package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Start a gnome-terminal (it should start windowed, 80x24), then
maximise it (by double clicking the title bar, clicking the maximise
button, etc.); its title bar disappears and it is now correctly
  maximised.

Now un-maximise the terminal (same way as before). It briefly flashes
down to its former size and position, then instantly resizes to take
up the entire desktop. So it looks like when it was maximised, except
its title bar is still visible.

Re-maximising and un-maximising from this state doesn't return the
previous dimensions; the gnome-terminal has forgotten its original
  size.
