still an issue in ubuntu 14.04.1 64 bit as manuel mentioned, it works fine when libnotify plugin is disabled.
as an evangelist of open source software, i find ongoing issues like this really discouraging. how can i possibly argue that open source operating systems are better when i can find record of this issue dating back to 2008 in a simple google search. it probably was reported even before that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to pidgin in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879950 Title: pidgin not showing up Status in pidgin package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in pidgin package in Unity Linux: New Bug description: Pidgin is just not visible.
