Title: iputils-ping does not support IPv6 in ping command Status in iputils package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: The iputils package included in Ubuntu is from 2012. There have been several releases since then and should be updated. Specifically, the iputils-ping package needs to be updated to support the unified ping binary. Specific commit: https://github.com/iputils/iputils/commit/ebad35fee3de851b809c7b72ccc654a72b6af61d Last release: https://github.com/iputils/iputils/releases/tag/s20150815 Given 16.04 is a LTS, it would be extremely bad for Ubuntu to miss this updated. Competitively, Fedora 24 will be including it as well. https://fedoraproject.org//wiki/Changes/PingIpv6 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/iputils/+bug/1547702/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
