Title: fstab-based mounts not done as calling user Status in udisks: Confirmed Status in udisks2 package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: I like to keep my cdrom mountpoint stable, as /media/cdrom .. in previous Ubuntu versions this was done by adding the following (or similar) to /etc/fstab: /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom udf,iso9660 ro,user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0 In 14.04, the CD-ROM gets correctly mounted on /media/cdrom, but I cannot then unmount it from the command line: $ umount /media/cdrom umount: only root can unmount /dev/cdrom from /media/cdrom This appears to be the upstream bug: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63849 There is a patch included in that report which I have not yet tried.
