Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 14.04, patched to Feb 7, 2016, running nautilus 1:3.10.1-0ubuntu9.10 , starting nautilus from a terminal using the --geometry=800x300+200+100 will ignore the '+200+100' positioning part unless sudo is used, in which case, the positioning is correctly used. The size of 800 pixels wide and 300 pixels tall appears by eye to be correct for non-sudo and sudo invocations of nautilus, but the window position of 200 pixels down and 100 pixels right is ignored unless sudo in used for the invocation.
