Hi. Yes, now the apt-get purge lightdm command does not remove the lightdm folder. But since I had this bug days ago, I had to recreate it manually and the people already affected need to recreate it manually, even if this will be last time. Manually creating /var/lib/lightdm and chown lightdm:lightdm makes it work. [Regression Potential] Low. The change is to not remove /var/lib/lightdm on package removal. This directory should only be removed when the user is removed.
