I have added two frequency scaling applets, one for each core, and I wanted to set them to 2 GHz (intel core2 duo - 1.0 Ghz, 1.33, 1.67, 2 Ghz possible), No matter what step I select, the 1 Ghz step is selected. The applet changes to conservative, ondemand, performance and powersave if i click them, but the it shows that the frequency is still 1 Ghz, and the overall computer performance is poor. so after changing it once, I can not set it back to normal.
