Okay, my test system is old but using the HUD never leads to lost characters. Knowing that the Dash misses sometimes the first characters leads me to wait for the Dash to open up completely before I start usually to type my search terms. I would like that the Dash catches any key pressed after the user activates the Dash by pressing SUPER - even when the Dash is not entirely visible. This would make the Dash feel snappier. Remember not everyone has a fast computer out there (Netbooks, old PCs...) Attached video: 'Dash_misses_char.ogv' Tried to open the Dash by pressing SUPER and wrote fast - but not super fast - 'update'.
