I don't think there's something evil in requesting a feature, that's how code evolution happens after all :) This bug is now upstream, but sorry I need to invalidate it in "PaperCuts" project as it doesn't include feature requests however it's confirmed in gEdit itself, but please feel free to file reports as a papercut when you see it's necessary and I'll direct it to the right way, Regards.
