What i did: 1) Start the gnome-system-monitor 2) Select the menu item 'preferences' 3) Observe the value of 'update interval' on any of the three tabs. It is '0,00' eventhough the interval is set to some other value (e.g. '1,00') 4) Change the value to something that is easy to detect as being different from the current value. (say '3,00') and close the dialogue. 5) Observe that the value has been accepted. 6) Select the menu item 'preferences' again and ... 7) Observe that the value of 'update interval' is again set to '0,00'.
