I am not saying that gnome-control-center is a third-party application, I was merely suggesting the functionality in that.
I do not mean the normal sort of wallpaper image, I was meaning the interactive (usually) animated type. Because to currently get that type of wallpaper known as 'live wallpaper' you have to get a third-party application, and I believe that an already built-in functionality to achieve this would be better. There is an article here on live wallpaper, however it requires you, like the others, to get a third-party application located in an unsupported and untrusted PPA: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/11/live- wallpaper-for-ubuntu ** Summary changed: - Built-in Live Wallpaper integration - feature -request + Built-in Live Wallpaper integration - feature request ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1497614 Title: Built-in Live Wallpaper integration - feature request Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu: New Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I think that it would be really good if there was some sort of built- in GNOME feature which would allow you to set a live wallpaper without having to install a third-party application.
