This bug goes away after updating Rhythmbox to version 3.2.1 following the instructions in http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2014/10/upgrade- to-rhythmbox-3-1-ubuntu-14-04/ using fossfreedom's PPA https://launchpad.net/~fossfreedom/+archive/ubuntu/rhythmbox.
