Werner Pieterson, just to advise, you are using an unsupported kernel (3.11.x) in Trusty. If you update to a supported one (original 3.13.x, or the enablement kernel series 3.16.x via https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack ) is the issue still reproducible?
