[xorg-edgers] screen freezes while audio playback is still active

Bug description:
The issue seems to occur randomly and has been experienced > 5 times
over last ~3 weeks. If it does there's no reaction for > 10 minutes
(then I usually force a reboot). Changing the tty with
<kbd>Ctrl</kbd>+<kbd>Alt</kbd>+<kbd>F[N]</kbd> doesn't work while the
audio playback (in `vlc` 2.2.0) continues over the whole 10 minutes.
