I believe so, but I am no longer using the computer where I originally experienced this, a Thinkpad X24. I still own it, so theoretically I could even test it... Why do you ask, do you experience something similar? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/402019 Title: video is a blue rectangle only Status in gnome-mplayer package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in gxine package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in mplayer package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in xine-ui package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in xserver-xorg-video-ati package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Binary package hint: gxine This may be bug 378041 When I first try to play a video, no matter the player or video file, all I see is a blue rectangle. Audio will work fine. I can actually see the video after thumbnailing the file with nautilus. After that, all video files on my computer will display fine with all players. My computer is a Thinkpad X24 with a mobile ATI radeon mobility chip.
