I applied the attached changes to unity-greeter, thinking I'd take advantage of logind's IdleAction. However, it's not really reliable, because lightdm leaks sessions in some situations (e.g. bug 1322275), and the system idle hint never gets set because those inactive sessions are not marked idle.
That said, it'd be a step forward if unity-greeter would set the session idle hint. ** Patch added: "unity-greeter-logind-idle.patch" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/894484/+attachment/4290611/+files/unity-greeter-logind-idle.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to unity-greeter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/894484 Title: No suspend when idle for lightdm greeter Status in unity-greeter package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: No option to set suspend when idle for greeter.
