Any comment from staff? The problem persists in current Thunderbird 3.1.2. Because Thunderbird is default communication application in Ubuntu, using all its features without any obstacles is important. Chat is currently useless.

There is default chat notification enabled and sound notification enabled (Preferences/Chat - Show notification). I have this one checked. When I setup new XMPP (Jabber) account and new message arrived to me, thunderbird doesn't notify me about that. This makes the chat feature useless. I expect same notification as for new email.
