Can confirm this on frshly installed Xubuntu, tried with 1:3.10.2-0ubuntu3.1 
and 1:3.12.3-0ubuntu1
It looks ugly at best and changing the gsettings value to a sensible width has 
no effect (and gets set back to 1127 after start).

Bug description:
  The Sudoku window appears too big, and is not resizeable, at least on my 
german Ubuntu version.
  This is a regression against 12.04.
