I guess the problem root is gvfs-sftp. My secuence is:

1.- Stablish vpn connection
2.- Open remote location with nautilus thruht sftp
3.- Disconnect from vpn
4.- Suspend laptop
5.- Resume laptop
6.- Reconnect to vpn
7.- Try to start nautilus but it doesnt shows up
8.- Kill /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd-sftp process
9.- Nautilus shows up

Bug description:
  To reproduce, connect to sftp server in Files app, keep the window
  open while briefly disconnecting wifi/ethernet. From time to time the
  Files freezes. In frozen state Files is hard to close or kill, but
  restarting gvfsd-sftp sometimes helps.
