This is still happening in Trusty, with Thunderbird 24.6.0. I do not understand the delay in fixing it as the bug's importance is High. Alos, I am not able to do the workaround (as specified in the previous post) as the Location (in Properties) of my Deleted local folder (I do not have a Trash local folder) is "imap://john.aaron.rose%40gmail....@imap.googlemail.com/Trash" rather than of the form "imap://.../INBOX/Trash" and I do not have an entry of "Extras/Settings/Advanced/Edit Configuration/Yes" in Thunderbird.
