I have the same bug. running Ubuntu 14.04 x64, have tried several kernels including the latest 3.14.7 and 3.15 and the bug persists. i have attached a 3tb HGST formatted with NTFS to my Asus Chromebox to one of its four usb 3.0 ports (no 2.0 here my bad), so no NVIDIA graphis, just intel ones.
