Title:
Image Viewer shows colors more subdued

Status in “eog” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When opening the same JPEG image in Gimp, Firefox, Shotwell and the
Image Viewer (eog) only the latter shows the colors more subdued
(Ubuntu 14.04). This is mostly noticable with reds. A good test image
  is:
  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Red_capsicum_and_cross_section.jpg

If I open this image in Chrome on an iPad it looks similar in color to
Image Viewer, so it might be the case that Image Viewer is correctly
rendering the colors, and Gimp et al not.
