I've been getting this for the past couple of Firefox releases. It happens even if I nuke my .mozilla directory and run Firefox sans any extensions. I've also seen it happen on my Win 7 machine at work, also when I've tested with no extensions and a new profile. From what I've read online, it happens more than just to Ubuntu 14.04. Honestly, I think it's a Firefox problem but not sure they have any intentions of fixing it, especially when their advice is to "always go to the menu and select Quit instead of clicking on the X in the corner".

When I try to restart it, it doesn't start and tells me "Firefox process is already running" I have to kill the process and start again. I am guessing this is related to Flash plugin but can't be sure.
