Public bug reported: Version of Ubuntu: 14.04 Version of the package: 11.2.202.350ubuntu1
Installing flashplugin-installer when a user has not updated the repos and the flashplugin tar.gz has been removed from the canonical archives causes flashplugin-installer to show that it has installed successfully - though on a second look, it has not installed the plugin. Running wget on the url provided by flashplugin-installer gives off a 404 - yet flashplugin-installer does not indicate this error, nor the error that should be given when it attempts to extract an archive that doesnt exist. ** Affects: flashplugin-nonfree (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to flashplugin-nonfree in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1320744 Title: flashplugin-installer does not warn on 404 Status in “flashplugin-nonfree” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Version of Ubuntu: 14.04 Version of the package: 11.2.202.350ubuntu1 Installing flashplugin-installer when a user has not updated the repos and the flashplugin tar.gz has been removed from the canonical archives causes flashplugin-installer to show that it has installed successfully - though on a second look, it has not installed the plugin.
