Hello Khurshid, or anyone else affected, Accepted gnome-panel into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome- panel/1:3.8.0-1ubuntu12 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

However other indicators & applets are not affected. It could be related Bug #1222339, where global-menu was causing each & every other applet to crash including global-menu itself. This bug was fixed in 3.8.0-1ubuntu6. [Test Case] 1. install gnome-session-flashback. 2. login in session. 3. add indicator-applet-appmenu to gnome-panel. at this point menu-bar will dissapear. 4. remove indicator-applet-appmenu from panel to get menu-bar back. [Regression Potential] I think there is no regression potential. Same fix is used for external applets built with libpanel-applet library.
