Upon trying to scan I Get "Failed to Scan: Unable to start scan", at this point the scanner has crashed and has to be power cycled. I have done a bit of poking around and found this only happens with Simple Scan. I can confirm that both ScanImage and Xsane work fine and I can scan with no problems.
