The same problem here, still.

compiz: 0.9.11+14.04.20140409-0ubuntu1
unity: 7.2.0+14.04.20140416-0ubuntu1

If disabling "Show live previews of windows in switcher" in ccsm,
minimize a window (let's say firefox or gedit), remaximize it. Then if I
want to select text, I have to put the mouse pointer/the cursor one line
above and several charactors left (compared to the real position I want)
to do it.

However, if enabling "Show live previews of windows in switcher" ,
then you cannot use the hot corner to "Show Desktop" (ccsm-->General
Options-->Key bindings-->Show Desktop). Set it to BottomLeft (any corner
that's not conflict with other key bindings), with "Show live previews
of windows in switcher" enabled, you can just use the hot corner to show
desktop for once. Then if you check the Show Desktop setting in ccsm, it
will be blank (not None but blank, nothing there).

This problem started from 13.10 and continues now in 14.04...
This bug report need to be reopened probably.

Title:
  Strange mouse behavior (Window Management)

Status in “compiz” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
After a maximized window is switched to the foreground, the mouse
behaves not normally. When you want to click or hover over a button
etc. The click is not triggered where your mousepointer is visible on
screen but rather few pixels moved to the lower right side. To fix
this temporarly you need to change the window size.

Description: Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (development branch)
