Still applicable to the version of Rhytmbox shipped with 12.04. This bug is still not fixed in the latest version in 14.04, although the behaviour has changed a bit.
In Rhythmbox v3.0.1, "Add to Playlist" -> "New Playlist" still creates a Playlist with a blank name but moves straight to renaming mode to allow the user to enter a playlist name right after adding the files. However, one can still create a playlist with a blank name inadvertently by just clicking somewhere else. A more adequate behaviour would be to provide "New Playlist" as default name regardless and keep the current behaviour of moving to renaming mode should the user choose to rename the playlist to a different name straight away. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947038 Title: Rhythmbox: Add to Playlist option creates a playlist with an empty name Status in The Rhythmbox Music Management Application: Invalid Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Selecting a few files from my music library and selectionning "Add to Playlist" -> "New Playlist" creates a playlist with an empty name.
