I have the same probem in University corporate wifi. This Bug was in
Ubuntu 13.10 and survived in Ubuntu 14.04.

  Something is wrong with the certificate and without editing the
  network file in  /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ and removing
  the line "system-ca-certs=true" wifi won't connect.
