I have the above issue also. Running 14.04. Bluetooth worked fine prior to the upgrade from 12.04.
I do note that during the update, I noticed that my bluetooth failed. I was putzing around on the web while the updater was running and my mouse eventually failed to move. I believe it was when it was adding packages. I am also encountering the Bluetooth menu and dialog box not being synced together.
