Same symptoms, printing on left side of page only, and workaround, using
'Draft' instead of 'Standard' quality, for me on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy
using the HP OfficeJet Pro 1175C - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.9 drivers on an
OfficeJet Pro 7680 over a direct USB connection.

Thanks for the report!

Title:
HP Officejet Pro 8000 Printer-a809a: Broken printout

Status in HP Linux Imaging and Printing:
  Incomplete
Status in “hplip” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
When "Print Quality" is set to "Standard" an A4 page gets only printed
on the left half. If "Print Quality" is set to "Low" (or "Draft") the
printout comes out correctly filling the entire page. Double-sided
printing does not work at all.

  Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty), everything up-to-date.
