Same symptoms, printing on left side of page only, and workaround, using 'Draft' instead of 'Standard' quality, for me on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy using the HP OfficeJet Pro 1175C - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.9 drivers on an OfficeJet Pro 7680 over a direct USB connection.
