I've going through the /var/log/apt/history.log

I believe this is where the error starts to crop out.

Title:
Segfault (core dumped) in gdk-pixbuf on upgrade

Status in “gdk-pixbuf” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:

I guess that due to that error, the gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders crashes
  later in the installation process.
