This is no longer a problem, as hibernation does not exist, except whe closing a laptop. In that case it works as intended, when the laptop is opened the screen returns, asks for a password and is ready for work.

This problem has been around since Intrepid Ibex. I increased swapfile from 1.59 GB to 4.0 GB, twice the amount of Ram. Entered hibernation, and it seemed to write things to disk, but then restarted immediately asking for login. Entering PSW would return computer to status before hibernate was started, however entering cancel appeared to make it go to sleep. When I powered the computer up again, it restarted as if Hibernation did not exist.
