Hibernate ans Suspend fail.

Bug description:
I'm using the version 9.04 of Ubuntu and when I try to suspend it halt the
monitor and don't get back anyway.
When I try to hibernate it make logout and everything right to a certain time
but don't come to shut down the power even after a long period of time, I have
to shut down it manually and when I start up it again my opened programs are
not saved, like i has did a simple shutdown and reboot.
